The main character is gay. This has no real relevance to the plot, although, the main character, Dade, thinks that why he has so many problems. Basically, Dade is sleeping with Pablo, a bisexual, struggling to come of the closet. Not only are the names of these characters an indicator of a terrible book but Dade is a jerk. These a minor character having real life, suicidal, issues and Dade is sitting with the most homophobic guys in his school, yet all the heterosexuals bully him. Daily. And when the story couldn’t get any worst, it did. Enter Alex coincidentally hot and gay. College drop out and sells weed to high schoolers. All in all the book needs to rethink its placement in the LGTB plus. - @LittleMissRedHead of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
