Sept 7, 2014....just starting this book.....I picked it up from the discard pile at the library, to give to my brother-in-law, but he had already read it, and recommended that I do so as well. I haven't read a Clive Cussler book before, but I found from reading the cover, that although it is fiction, much of the story could be based on fact, so this makes it interesting to me......Sept 10, 2014, I am finding this a very easy read, something that is a bit refreshing at the moment, it bounces around, which can be frustrating, but it's just the beginning (I'm on page 110 or so) and I must say that keeps it from being boring, which I can't say for other authors! (I am surprised at how much Canadian content is in this book.....I must say I have never experienced that from authors that were not Canadian before.).....oh, the book starts out with a little story about the Franklin expedition abandoning their ships.....and then what do I hear on the news a day later?.....they have found one of the ships from the Franklin expedition under the water!.....a funny coincidence?......Sept 18, well I am still enjoying this, but finding it just a little far fetched. Perhaps I have been reading too many non-fictions lately and it has soured me for fiction?....Am I starting to be like my hubby, who refuses to read (well listen really.....he is into audio books) any fiction whatsoever? (I have to read the new Diana Gabaldon book, then I will know whether I am soured on fiction or not!).....finished it Sept 22. All in all not a bad book, but...Dirk Pitt is just a little bit too much of a superhero for me.
