I wanted to learn more about Tookoolito but this information was pretty sparse in this book, probably because there is little written anywhere. Nickerson did a lot of research and it shows. It was a strangely composed book in that about halfway through the author starts talking about her mother. Maybe she is comparing her knowledge of her mother and her mother's journey through illness to her death with Tookoolito and her life in the United States far from her home in the north. I would recommend this book for those who want information on the North and the search for Franklin.
