Reading this book is like boarding a plane and taking off as planned only to fly in a holding pattern for six straight hours. Worse, when the plane finally does land, it's only 10 feet away from where it took off. In short, it's a frustrating read. It's starts off pretty good: the meeting in the elevator and the fake wedding date are fun to read. Again, the dialogue by this point is already a bit silly, but it's easy to ignore with a good plot. (There is an extended flirty banter scene about cheese and crackers. Lunchables ain't sexy; quit trying to make them so.) After the wedding, though, it all just stalls. The main couple spend boring weekends with each other, eating boring meals and having boring sex. (Honestly, there are so many vaguely described sex scenes in this book, it became tedious. I just started skipping them after a while.) Our main couple are also kinda dumb, reminding me more of middle schoolers than the thirty-something professionals they're supposed to be. They nearly blow their whole relationship up because they don't know how to have an adult conversation. If you've read a lot of romance, there isn't much new here. Save your time and maybe skip this one.
