The book presents a very different challenge, compared to the typical mystery novel. It’s not just a matter of identifying culprits; the bigger challenge is uncovering the crime. There’s no dead body in the parlor. Even if you figure out who did it, I doubt that you will see what was done until the final shocking revelation. You know something is wrong on the twilight wife’s little island paradise, thanks to the publisher’s overly informative synopsis on the cover. Happily, that didn’t spoil the fun. This is a page turner that I had to finish in one sleepless night. The author also offers often delightful and always informative material on amnesia, marine biology, Pacific Northwest climate and geography, and internet vulnerabilities. A very good read.
