Of course introverts power the world. Extroverts may have the drive but it’s the quiet people who see to it that things get done. Ms. Cain, a lifelong introvert, points out the various introverts who have helped shape and mold history, politics, arts, science and schooling. She sets up guidelines for those who’d like to contribute more or stand out at parties but can’t seem to get the ball rolling. She also suggests helpful solutions for teachers and parents who fall into the pitfalls of thinking that a child is somehow lacking because s/he isn’t participating as much as they should be in class. All in all, this book is a potent testament to the joys of being one of those people that everyone else has to watch.
