Julia's house comes to town. But it is too quiet. She puts a sign on the door and soon lost creatures of all sorts begin to show up. But more and more come and chaos ensues. Julia comes up with a plan--a chore chart to help keep things organized. Soon it is calm and cozy in her home for everyone. The illustrations are beautiful, colorful and nicely detailed. The story is unusual which is a fun trait, but a lot of questions go unanswered. Where did Julia come from? Why does a huge turtle carry her house around? I would have liked to know more about Julia. This book is advertized for ages 4-8, but I don't know what children under school age would think of the more mature aspects of this story. It is great for grades 1-3 and is an excellent early reader.
