They Must Be Stopped

Why We Must Defeat Radical Islam and How We Can Do It
Sep 28, 2015
Right off the bat you can see how Gabriel lumps everything more or less Islamic in one lump, while, at the same time, mentioning that Muslims are at the forefront as victims of extremist violence - something has to give. The PLO may have many faults, but it is not a radical extremist organization. Hezbollah and Hamas may use despicable tactics, but they are not out to conquer the world. Placing every event involving Arabs and/or Muslims in a violent way in the same category as ISIS is not helpful: it is paranoid and a leading cause of mismanagement by the West. By the way, that Judeo-Christian tradition emphasizes love and compassion ignores the gruesome history that it carries, and saying that he Crusades were a self-defense action suggests that Gabriel should go back to school and take Medieval History 101. Of course radical Islam has to be stopped, but do not underestimate radical fundamentalist"Christians" (think white supremacists), "Buddhists" (think Myanmar), or whatever: it is fundamentalist, intolerant religious bigotry that is threatening civilized society, whether it's Muslim, Christian, or anything else Just because ISIS and AL-Qaida are holding the headlines should not let us lose perspective and throw everything Muslim in the same pot.
