Jo-Ann Mapson know how to pull together characters and make a good story. Dolores is a kind of narrator for this story set in New Mexico. In Spanish, Dolores means "sorrow", and that is what draws Dolores to the people in this neighbourhood in Santa Fe. She plays a part in how some things happen. Adult children and parents are brought together again, to build better relationships (or not?). Skye is the main character and her relationships with all the others are complex, funny, sad, healing. I was totally caught up in the story and stayed up late to finish it.
