Don't think you can read this book in leisurely installments, a chapter here and a chapter there. It is completely engrossing from the first page to the last. The novel is about Nastya, a high school senior who resorts to selective mutism to deal with a traumatic event. She meets Josh who has had traumas of his own, and they develop a friendship and one of the best slow-burn romances I have ever read. Healing comes incrementally, without cliches and stereotypes. It's a beautiful book; you read it and forget you're reading. Highly recommended.
