I like Tarantino's crass disregard for any thing sensitive and Reservoir Dogs definitely delivers. Complete with graphic descriptions of sex, course language, and lots of blood and violence, Reservoir Dogs ticks all of the boxes. But I feel that Pulp Fiction and The Hateful Eight are superior in terms of clever plot and delivery.

Quentin Tarantino wrote & directed. Great cast and writing. I just found it very difficult to watch a film where half the time the screen is filling up with blood. Has some very violent scenes, but I can only imagine that an actual heist would have raw violence too. This film really touches the heart of that violence. Some great dialogue, great acting. Guess some people found this funny; I did not. I loved the strong characters. All of them are very believable. This film is almost 28 years old, and still has an audience draw.

The setup of a jewel heist and its bloody after effects. I'm...a little on the fence about this one. It was fun, but not "can't take my eyes off the screen" fun. Lot of bark without much bite.

Directed by Quentin Tarantino in his feature-length debut, this 1992 thriller depicts the events before and after the diamond heist.
It incorporates many motifs that have become Tarantino's hallmarks: violent crime, pop culture references, profanity, and nonlinear storytelling.
Cutting off an ear with a straight razor appears one of the most shocking and gruesome scenes I've ever seen.
Superb are the parformances of the major actors.

Imagine an older Ocean's Eleven directed by Quentin Tarantino, plus an undercover cop and you get this movie. I really liked how the movie played on everyone's suspicions and had plenty of action to keep the audience entertained.

never seen Keitel give a bad performance (apparently he was in Apocalypse Now, and was replaced by Martin Sheen). he's rock solid here. I had never SPOILER ALERT!!!! seen an officer of the law suffer violence, but Michael Madsen doles it out to a blue uniformed guy, in this film. I thought the Madonna reference cool, too, but am just uncertain that it really added anything to the theme of the film. if you really have a Madonna jones going on, see TRUTH OR DARE, even SHANGHAI SURPRISE. hey, RD is a Tarantino film, you get what you expected. JACKIE BROWN is better.

As QT's first film as both writer and director, Reservoir Dogs indicates a remarkably fully formed cinematic sensibility. Watch Tarantino before he lost the plot.

Gruesome, tense, every moment a tightly strung wire. Except for that one, completely unexpected moment right in the thick of things where I laughed so hard I had to pause the movie. A true mastery of craft.
