Sexual Content: A short but disturbing scene between husband and wife- while not graphic, it is shocking and deeply unpleasant.

Comment
Add a CommentI agree indeed. Excellent mini-series movie done with class, great taste for costumes, music and great performance of actors. Interesting, intriguing story all along.
The VPL copy u.2 only has one DVD, it is disc #2 with episodes #3&4.
It would be helpful if the description clarified whether this is Season 1 or 2, or both.
This is a really good movie, Loved Soames, he had such horrible luck with women. Not his fault of course, but his personally is a bit off putting and he could do with a little bit of humor in his life. His first wife was not a good choice. If a woman (or man) even hints that they have doubt at the onset of marriage better take a step back and give it a lot of thought. I have watched it twice and plan on watching it again in a few years.
I loved the movie and will read the book now. Damian (soames)was best love to hate character ever
A truly great mini-series, beautifully directed and acted, which frequently packs an emotional punch. Viewers have the opprtunity to see three of England's top male actors, Rupert Graves, Ioan Gruffudd and Damian Lewis, who is electric as Soames Forsyte. Corin Redgrave is a delight, and the female parts are also well cast. All of the lead characters get moments to shine, and they respond perfectly. Highly recommended
Outstanding performances by Damien Lewis & Corin Redgrave. Some costume-dramas are beautiful to watch, but thin on substance, but everything in FS, from the dialogue to the characterizations, is superb. One of the best costume-dramas I've seen. And you've got to love the spinster aunts (what good period drama doesn't have at least one): "The loss of a husband is nothing to the loss of a good butler, my dear".
Absolutely first class series. Wonderul period costumes, interiors, and script. Amazing cast. Damian Lewis is unbelievable as Soames Forsyte- utterly selfish, cold, and possessive- and yet we pity the man. A beautiful production.
