Awesome book read twice! I love all Koontz's books some more than others. I do have to comment on another comment I read that said they didn't want to spend time reading the serial killers thoughts! Why read a book about a serial killer then?! Duh!
Btw Koontz's best books are "Watcher's, Midnight, By the light of the Moon, Odd Thomas series, The Silent corner" and the list goes on and on. But the aforementioned are a good place to start.

Another author who is really good is Patricia Cornwell and her Dr Scarpetta series. She is a Forensic Pathologist, and it reads in first person; has a lot of serial killers and murders being solved in it between her and her FBI husband.

I was so very disappointed in this book after being so enthralled with "The Husband." Wasn't wild about the premise of this book, or the main character.

I found this book very engaging. It was a bit descriptive as one reader pointed out, and at first that bothered me a bit. But then I realized the more I read of what was going inside each of the main characters' minds, the more I understood why they were doing what they did which helped me get more emotionally involved in the book.

Definitely a gripping read but (and i know this is trademark Koontz) i found it annoying having to spend so much time in the head of some retarded serial killer.

I mean, seriously am i really interested in some well developed cockamany philosophy of some weirdo?

Just tell the damn story, damn it!

If you want to read Koontz, read Watchers and Lightning. Period.

Still not satisfied? Ok, read Midnight and Dark Rivers of the Heart...

Intensity ---- by Dean Koontz c - 1996 ---- A very good read and was very hard to get a copy of in the late 1900's. ---- The story is hard to put down. ---- Enjoy! ---- RichardPaul

This book kept me on the edge of my seat for 2 days until I finished it. It was a super intense read, but at times a little too descriptive. One of Dean Koontz' better stories. Overall though, I really really enjoyed it!

Gripping. An abducted woman who fought back, any way she could.
