A missing woman is brought back to life by her billionaire husband--with deadly consequences--in a gripping psychological thriller from the New York Times bestselling author of The Girl Before. Abbie awakens in a daze with no memory of who she is or how she landed in this unsettling condition. The man by her side claims to be her husband. Tim Scott is an icon of the tech world and founder of the lucrative Scott Robotics. He tells Abbie that she is a gifted artist, an avid surfer, a loving mother to their young son and the perfect wife. He says she had a terrible accident five years ago, and that, through a huge technological breakthrough, she has been brought back from the abyss. She is a miracle of science. But as Abbie pieces together memories of her marriage, she begins questioning Tim's motives--and his version of events. Can she trust him when he says he wants them to be together forever? And what really happened to Abbie half a decade ago?

Thought provoking on so many levels. Loved it!

A psychological suspense involving Artificial intelligence (AI) and autism in the form of childhood disintegrative disorder (CDD).

Tim Scott founder of Scott Robotics has spent five years developing a cobot - a companion robot - to replace his deceased wife Abbie. The Abbie cobot has emotions as well as the real Abbie's memories. She also has the ability to gather information instantly and form conclusions she can act upon. What happened to 'real' Abbie that her autistic son, Danny, would be left behind with his father Tim?

I won't spoil the plot with further details but it is a very interesting reading experience. I highly recommend this book!

Don't bother with this contrivance. The mystery is how so much hogwash can sell. If you can get beyond the 3rd chapter, you are a real reader.

A very creative story line. It grabs you from the start and doesn't let go until the every end.

Seems to start of slow, but picks up about 75-pages in. A 21st century thriller!

The best so far from J.P. Delaney. They have all been quite unique and this one does not disappoint. Combine the issue of autism treatment, AI and domestic drama and you get a riveting read. Sci fi lovers will enjoy the treatment of AI and its potential. The family dynamics surrounding the pressures of working in the tech industry and having a child with CDD autism. This is a thriller that covers a large amount of territory and is so very timely. I am definitely a J.P. Delaney fan.
