The unmissable thriller from the Grande Dame of Suspense, MARY HIGGINS CLARK, and New York Times bestselling author ALAFAIR BURKE.

The Met Gala ball: the world's most glamorous fundraising party, an incredible night where the rich and famous wear extraordinary designer gowns and rub shoulders in New York's famous Metropolitan Museum of Art. People would kill for an invitation.

Three years ago, Virginia Wakeling, a member of the Met's board of trustees and one of the museum's most generous donors, was found dead in the snow outside the building. Police soon discovered that she'd been thrown from the roof during the Met Gala, but no one has ever been arrested for her murder.

Although suspicion has always hovered around Virginia's much younger boyfriend, there are a bevy of suspects. Laurie Moran decides to investigate Virginia's death for her successful cold-cases television show, Under Suspicion . But the more she pries into Virginia's murder, the closer Laurie comes to discovering just how dangerous an invitation to the Met Gala can be...

A fun read with a little different setting and plot line than most mysteries of this type. I enjoyed the characters and the settings. It’s not Pulitzer Prize-worthy literature, but it is a great piece of entertainment that is not too brain-draining! I also appreciate that it is available in the large print edition.

Always like Mary Higgins Clark books this was a little different with a co-writer, but very enjoyable reading. Loved the idea of locate for the murder, one of favorite places to visit when I travelled back and forth to New York.

Mary Higgins Clark is an adult author that I will always make time to read. I love how her books are mysteries with a little bit of romance usually thrown in. Every Breath You Take is the 5th book in the Under Suspicion series and kept me engaged throughout the whole book. I love the main character, Laurie Moran, who is a television producer who tries to solve cold cases with her tv show.

Totally formulaic. Reads just like the previous one, with just a few different names.

Mary is better when she has help. No suspense in this one, though. Right away you know the killer.

A solid 4.5 stars for this 5th collaboration of Mary Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke in the Under Suspicion series. This installment investigates a mysterious mystery at the Met making that iconic landmark a strong character in the book. I really enjoyed having the first ladies exhibit front and center, too.

There is definite and realistic character development among the team members and those close to Laurie Moran. A foundation is built for future episodes and I look forward to reading #6 next year.

Mary Higgins Clark has been a favorite author for a long time. This one is is in her "Suspicion" series --- so it's always nice to know the characters (having read the previous books). Another cold case to solve --- lots of characters come together -- plot twists & turns.

The wimpy Laurie Moran caves again. To Ryan. Some female executive. An embarrassment to women.

Enjoyable addition to this series of cold unsolved cases. Well done and kept the mystery as to the real killer to the end of the book. Enjoy these characters and the cases that they are involved with. Pleasant read for a quiet day.
