This series details Alice's difficulty navigating puberty. As she and her friends adopt the goal of getting fit before high school, one friend seems to become obsessive and potentially disordered in her dieting and exercise routine. Many girls (and some boys as well) will be able to relate to this cautionary tale.
this is my 2nd fave (almost Alice being the best) i think it was really good. I think the most appealing thing about these is that Alice goes through everything we do. Its like im experiencing my summer before high school with her (cuz im starting HS soon) and these books also teach you to stay true to yourself. They are on the banned books list, but they are worth it.it was hilarious and i felt good reading it. Because i love these books. you know, i reserve 5 of these books, pick them up, read them in an hour (at the most) and reserve 5 more. i am a fast reader i admit (once read 14 books in a day) but dont think "i cant read well so i cant read this book." its perfect for everyone. im seriously hooked on this series even though its not intense or anything. MUST. HAVE. ALICE! really funny but worrying when elizabeth goes too far on her diet but im so glad she got better. my favourite bit is when Brian gets freaked out because Elizabeth is hiding under a hedge because she dosen't want people to see her run because of sweating. great for 12 up
