Terrible- James Franco couldn't even nail Tommy Wiseau's accent. Seemed like a bunch of snobbish poseurs making a pointless film about a talentless money launderer. Read Greg Sestero's book of the same name if you want to read an entertaining behind the scenes look at the film- it's more honest and funnier than Franco's film could ever be,

I really enjoyed it, wasn't sure I would. Gonna rent the 'ROOM' if I can, but this was good even though I hadn't seen the original. TOO BAD the fix was in and they 'me tooed' FRANCO right out of the last awards season, or he might have at least been nominated for something or other. Hmmm, which competitor's film was worried...............?

I didn't know what to expect from this movie. I had no interest in seeing the movie when it was in the theatre and I was not familiar with the story. I borrowed the movie from the library and thoroughly enjoyed this bizarre, but true story. The acting was great, especially from James Franco. After I saw the movie, I had to go online to learn more about Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero.

James Franco is a talentless loser who made a movie about another talentless loser making a movie so bad that it's laugh out loud funny. Ugh, don't waste your time- how about watching a movie that is actually good- there are lots of 'em out there.

If this film wasn't based on a true story, it would seem too absurd to be real. James Franco plays Tommy Wiseau, who wrote and directed a 2003 film "The Room" that is generally considered one of the worst films ever made. The film, "The Room" with its jaw-dropping yet hilarious awfulness, has achieved a significant cult status. The movie "The Disaster Artist" is about the making of "The Room". This movie is fascinating and entertaining, sometimes sad and often very funny. James Franco is fantastic as the eccentric and enigmatic Wiseau. I think this movie was excellent and it is a movie about friendship as much as it is a movie about movie-making. Highly recommended.

This is a phenomenal story and incredible entertainment. This is the kind of true story that it's just really cool that it exists. It is also a hilarious, yet honorable, tribute to the weirdos in all of us and the many many dreams out there that just are not backed up by god-given talent. The most profound line is when Wiseau is surrounded by the audience laughing at him, the center of attention, who poured all he had into his project. He points out that in his story, he is the hero, and all the anonymous, stakeless crowd around him laughing must be the villains. It is not possible to argue any other classification.

Seth Rogen was more restrained than I expected, but the movie is so pointless I coudn't finish. A remake of "Ed Woods"? How many "people with more money than brains make a movie" movies do we need?

"Overall, I really like The Disaster Artist. I think the acting is really good, especially from James Franco who I can see getting some nominations for acting (that’s probably the only thing this movie will probably get nominations for) and Dave Franco is good as well. I think the movie is very funny, especially if you know The Room, which helps elevate the humor of this movie..."

I watched it with an open mind because the last movie I watched with Seth Rogen and James Franco was " This Is the end" i was not impressed so I didn't have high expectations .
But as I watched " The Disaster Artist" it was pretty entertaining and had a wicked soundtrack and funny in subtle ways. And Rotten Tomatoes gave it a fresh rating , therefore couldn't be that bad.
