A good basic to medium overview of personal finance stuff: managing debt, budgeting, retirement investing, different types of investments and who they work best for, etc. I don't have a formal background in finance, but I felt like this was a helpful, reputable entry level text. I feel like I can use some of the info provided instantly and/or use my new base to start reading more specific finance works.

My one critique: even though this is a post Recession publication, there were points in this work (specifically the rent vs buying and home ownership sections) that seemed dramatically out of touch with the financial prospects and realities of the 20 something audience at which it's directed. Still, a good hypothetical info base.
