I just finished reading One More Thing : stories and other stories / by B.J. Novak. I had a lot of fun reading it -- it's cheeky, and in this it reminded me of David Sedaris, whom I absolutely looooove. Not all stories in Novak's book are good, but many of them are really worth it. He also wrote a really funny picture book for children (The Book with No Pictures).

I really wanted to like this book. I like BJ Novak, I find him hilarious, but I just could not get into his book. I tried to read a few different short story chapters, but they were just too weird. And, *spoiler alert*, once I read the chapter where the man goes to heaven and goes to see his grandma and she's giving a celebrity a blow job in heaven, I was done. I'm not a prude or anything, but I just didn't like his style of writing at all.

Fairly predictable and sophomoric. It is hard to recommend any of these short stories.

Neat collection of stories! Novak has a unique view of the world and it comes out in his stories!

I am nearly always disappointed with fictional "short story" books, but this was the exception to the rule. This book made me laugh in the most unexpected of places. There were little subtleties that made it fun -- you could connect some of the stories if you paid attention. Also, having just finished my first watch of The Office, I can see where the show got some of its off-kilter, "who thinks of these things" humor. I'll most-likely read this again, which I don't say about most books.

This was a very enjoyable read. I have never finished an entire book of short works before. I found myself staying up late to read just one more story! Great quirkiness and humour. I could see some of the stories making good short films. Highly recommended!

This book starts out slightly familiar and maybe a bit contrived, like a lighter and tamer version of David Sedaris' "Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk." But then the stories take one unexpected turn after another. This book inspires one to follow through on the wayward "what if" thoughts most of us don't dare to think about.

I enjoyed this collection by writer/actor Novak. These inventive short stories contain clever satire, are whimsical, and somehow sweet. Many of the stories play out like modern fables- for this reason, I recommend it to fans of David Sedaris' Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk. I think fans of Sedaris will appreciate Novak's humor.

This book was okay. A few stories were great and poignant, but as another reviewer said others just fell flat and made me lose interest pretty quickly.

A witty collection filled with short stories of varying length -- some being only a few sentences, others taking up multiple pages. Each story is clearly lovingly crafted and is filled with charm. I suspect the type of humor would appeal to a younger audience, however, likely under the age of 40.

"It was overwhelming. It was a good thing they were already used to love, or they might have fainted from the size of the feeling."

"If you love something, let it go.
If you don’t love something, definitely let it go.
Basically, just drop everything, who cares."
