"The Lady Gambles" - A portrait of a lady addicted to gambling. You have to give Hollywood credit for attempting to deal with the terrible illness of addiction, but Hollywood just didn't have the courage to make the addiction down and dirty. "The Lost Weekend" and "The Days of Wine and Roses" were much better at portraying the tragic consequences of addiction.
