This one wasn't for me. I found the beginning to be confusing as it jumped around between past and present, and I didn't see any text indicators explaining which time period was which. I eventually did make sense of the beginning as I got further in, only to find neither the story or characters to be gripping at all. The art style, to me was ugly - I did like the coloring and color palettes used, but did not find the characters (and especially the faces) to be attractive in the slightest.

Stunning graphic novel series with a killer combination of story and illustrations. Such a unique premise and fantastic lore-building make you really want to know how it all began and where it is going. Once you finish volume one, you'll have to finish the rest. Also available on Hoopla.

Ugh, this series is SO GOOD. It's definitely dark, so if those types of comics aren't your thing, I wouldn't recommend this one. Fans of Sandman or Scott Snyder will love this.

Compelling story, excellent art. Very spooky and I can't wait to read the next one!

Okay, in all honesty I have NO idea why it took me so long to read through this series. I binge-read through the entire thing in less than three weeks. The story arc is brilliant, well-paced, and yet somehow still leaves you wishing it was ten volumes longer. This was also my first experience with Joe Hill, who I won't tell you who his famous writer father is, but I will tell you he stands head and shoulders above his peers.

Wow, I loved this series. Binge read the whole thing and one of the few comics that truly creeped me out. A great series to read for the month of October!

Liked the art, but story is convoluted. Too bad, as it started off strong with a mysterious disappearance/death.

This the first in the series, and it's perfect if you like dark, haunting stories. I have read all of Joe Hill's novels, and he does really amazing with this story as well. I wish I would have picked this up much, much sooner.

I can't say enough about this entire series, so I'll just say this: READ IT.
