This is the original MWKTM with Peter Lorre and directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Hitch remade this movie 22 years later with Doris Day and James Stewart. Both are filled with suspense, but this one seemed to have more bloodshed than the…

Pretty good, but not one of my favorite Hitchcock films. It has a good amount of suspense which you would expect, and the performances are really good. But the thing that sours me a bit is those bits during the movie where Doris Day gets…

1956. A good 50s thriller but the bad ending was silly and falls apart. Doris is a hysterical wife-mother, who needs to be medicated by her Dr. spouse. A pill for every obstacle in life.

Jimmy Stewart plays quite well as an average man with danger thrown at him. Doris Day brings liveliness to the suspense. She sings her signature “Que Serra Serra” with her the boy who plays as her son, and it plays an important key in the…

The story is implausible, nevertheless it is fairly entertaining.

James Stewart and Doris Day star in this Alfred Hitchcocl classic. An American family find themselves in the middle of an international mix-up. Murder, kidnapping and people who aren't what the seem to be make for an interesting ride. …

I'm watching all of Hitchcock's movies...not necessarily in order. I see many negative reviews for many reasons. Each of the discs so far has a supplement by a well known director or critic. I advise all viewers to watch this FIRST. You…

Cameo of Hitchcock ; bus scene (isle of man printed on bus) ; he walks from right to left just before Bob and Clive enter the church .

Good movie. I know this won't be popular, but sadly Doris Day, whom I usually love, ruined this second version for me. Her worst performance in a movie I can recall. Her over the top, hysterical performance is highly irritating. Made the…

The streaming version is not the Doris Day movie. It’s an earlier film by Hitchcock with the same title and story line

I have fond memories of first viewing this James Stewart and Doris Day film in the summer a few years ago with my brother and sister. We all had a good time getting thrilled!

This was a very entertaining movie with two of the biggest stars of the 1950s. Doris Day was listed as being the highest grossing female movie star in four different years. I think she was the star of the show. Her wonderful voice was…

🎥 This appears to be one of the movies with two different versions that the library database conflates under the same title, so that comments on both versions appear together. The original version was made in 1934, and remade in 1956, by…

The one question that repeatedly kept coming to my mind while watching 1934's "The Man Who Knew Too Much" was - Did director, Alfred Hitchcock really think his audience was this stupid? And, even though this vintage picture's running…

I couldn't really enjoy the film because it started about 7 minutes into the film (and could not be made to go back) and the disc was catching and freezing regularly; these are joust issues with the particular item that I got to borrow.…

Underrated Hitchcock. James Stewart and Doris Day are fantastic. I will say I prefer the original 1934 version a little more, but that might have more to do with the pacing and me loving Peter Lorre a lot.

comes off as miscast. a scene that was supposed to convey suspense, during which ms. day is sitting at a piano, singing over and over the song with which there is most recognition of her, these days---QUE SERA, SERA--well, this inane…

The son was kidnapped in the 1955 remake. In this film, it's a daughter that was kidnapped.

GOOD 1956 Alfred Hitchcock remake of his 1934 film with same name. James Stewart and particularly Doris Day were excellent - I've been enjoying seeing her various films from the past. Quality production overall.

Enjoyed watching this film again after many years. I have always loved Jimmy Stewart and began watching his films as a youngster with my mom. And, I had forgotten how tremendous a singing voice Doris Day has. This is an good movie if…

The discription of the film is the first version with Peter Laurie from 1934. This is the rerelease of the remake with James Stuart and Doris Day and is shot In 1956 but could be much later in its fine modern version. Hitchcock makes a…
